Albert Cheng kicked off an industry perspective from the point of view of Disney / ABC, specifically how ABC views the opportunity for the broadband Internet to permit their audience to better interact with their content on the consumer's terms, and through taking advantage of newer technologies to enhance the consumer's experience with their content.
Bob Bowman from Major League Baseball's MLB.com shared stories of the growth of learning how to stream baseball games back when technology wasn't exactly ready for the mass audiences, and then shared his view of where this is all leading. From there, everyone from Richard Glosser of CondeNet and Dina Kaplan from Blip.tv shared their views of new and emerging content networks.
We learned from Jeremy Allaire, Gary Lauder, and several more about how one might make money off content, and as if to further validate this, we heard some ideas from Steve Arnold from Polaris Venture Partners.
In subsequent sessions, Jeff Jarvis launched his presentation by shouting, "We're taking over TV!" We are networks. We have shows and series. It is our TV. Lots there to consider.
