Diane Decordova, VP Business Development, Next New Networks, Inc.
Diane deCordova has more than twenty years experience in business development, counseling both US and international companies. Diane has broad strategic and deal-making knowledge and is a specialist in certain industries, including: Internet-technology, telecommunications, media & entertainment, retail, consumer products, and investment banking. She is an entrepreneur and has represented companies in all phases of development from start-up, to medium and large corporations.
For the last year, Diane has been working with Next New Networks to develop and implement a “super-distribution” strategy for the new media company that is creating micro television networks on the internet for targeted communities. Two years ago, Diane founded Strategic Business Development Partners. As a consultant, Diane has worked closely with her clients to advise on strategic thinking & planning, marketing, distribution & sales channel development; partner relationship building, content & technology licensing, and contract negotiating
Prior to establishing SBDP, Diane spent 12 years in the heart of Silicon Valley serving as Director of Strategic Alliances at Yahoo, VP Business Development of Reflect.com (Procter & Gamble subsidiary) and Director of Business Development for Excite@Home and MNI Interactive (creator of the original MusicNet service).
Diane started her career in investment banking. Initially, with Morgan Stanley International in London, she advised on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Later she founded, Buckenham Informação de Investimentos, a boutique M&A advisory firm in Portugal. A graduate of Princeton University, Diane also received her Masters from the London School of Economics.
Sandy Malcolm, Executive Producer, CNN.com video
Sandy Malcolm is executive producer of CNN.com video. In that role, Malcolm oversees all of CNN.com’s video content on the Web site and for CNN Mobile. Named to her current role in September 2003, Malcolm played an instrumental role in the development and relaunch of CNN.com, the latest evolution in online news that resulted in an intuitive, integrated Web site that puts users within a click of the global, national and local news and information they find most relevant to them. In addition to her duties with CNN.com, Malcolm handles CNN content provided to Comcast and Time Warner Cable for cable on-demand usage. Before CNN.com, Malcolm served in a variety of production roles for CNN, including CNN International and CNN/Sports Illustrated. Her accomplishments include leading the network’s special programming following the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin and coordinating CNN’s coverage of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks from a sports perspective. Malcolm worked at ABC News as a researcher and on the assignment desk before joining CNN Headline News as an associate producer and news writer in 1990. Malcolm earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland.
Keith Mcallister, CEO, Mochila, Inc.
Keith McAllister is an award-winning media executive whose career accomplishments range from investigative journalism to overseeing the largest electronic newsgathering organization in the United States. Until late 2003, Mr. McAllister had spent almost 18 years at CNN. In his last role, he was CNN's executive vice president and managing editor of national newsgathering, a division with 500 staff that provided news coverage, programming, and other content to CNN's many TV, radio, web, and wireless outlets. In the period between CNN and Mochila, Mr. McAllister consulted clients on media and branding strategy, crisis management, and content development strategies.
Michael Sprague, President and COO, Wavexpress
Michael Sprague is the President and COO of Wavexpress, a leading provider of products and services enabling the secure distribution and compelling presentation of digital media over broadband. He joined Wavexpress at its inception, serving as Vice President, Production Services from 1999 to 2003. In August of 2003 he took over responsibilities as President of the company.
As President, Mr. Sprague has become a pioneer in the Internet television industry by developing Wavexpress' consumer application, TVTonic. Under his leadership, TVTonic has grown to become the featured Internet television application in Windows Vista and XP, and currently offers nearly 300 channels of the best in online video content.
Prior to joining Wavexpress, Mr. Sprague was the Systems Architect for Wave Systems Corporation, where he was responsible for navigating Wave through its transition onto the Internet and into new media technologies.
Mr. Sprague studied computer science at the University of Chicago.
Kevin Towes, Technical Product Manager, Flash Media Server, Adobe Systems
Kevin Towes is the technical product manager in the Dynamic Media Organization at Adobe Systems, responsible for defining, delivering, and supporting Adobe streaming video products and services. In his role, he manages products related to Flash Media Server and Flash Media Encoder, collaborating with the core product team, partners, professional services, business development and sales groups to define product releases and deliver solutions to the market through complete product development lifecycles.
Prior to Adobe, Towes spent 13 years working as a prime consultant enabling customers with Flash-based communication, collaboration, social media and video streaming solutions using Flash Media Server. Towes’ Flash Media Server Live Video work with Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) led to an Emmy nomination in 2004.
